Transgression art + technology launches Experimental Exhibition Program - PEE

On May 21st, Tuesday, at 6 pm, at the Madeira Electricity Museum - Casa da Luz, the inauguration of the Experimental Exhibition Program of the TRANSGRESSION art + technology PR2 project, organized by APCA - Madeira Promotion Agency Atlantic Culture.
In this session, the project 'TRANSGRESSION art + technology PR2' and the PEE Program - Experimental Exhibition Program (2024) and the PRA - Artistic Residency Program (2023) will be presented by the Curator and Artistic Director for projects in the area of New Media, Hernando Urrutia, also counting on the interventions of the President of the Board of Directors of APCA - Agency for the Promotion of Atlantic Culture, Maurício Marques, the Regional Director of Culture, Natércia Xavier, and the Director of the Madeira Electricity Museum - Casa da LUZ, Luísa Garrido.
Videos will also be shown with messages from the winners of the PRA Grant - Artistic Residency Program, Malitzin Cortez CNDSD and Iury Lech, with artistic residencies at the Associação Musical e Cultural Xarabanda and Associação Teatro Experimental do Funchal - ATEF, respectively, held in 2023. The Associação Musical e Cultural Over the years, it has protected and promoted the intangible heritage of theater and its different elements of performance and representation.
The Experimental Exhibition Program aims to exhibit experimental audiovisual works, through encounters with transgressions from various fields and the vision of each of the different selected artists, in pursuit of the following objectives: supporting the artistic production of New Media and Media Arts Digital for creators at regional, national and international levels; promote the creation, dissemination and artistic research of New Media and Digital Media in the area of Experimental Audiovisual; creation of new audiences and motivation of the general public, with special interest in young students in their experimental pursuits; provide accessibility to contemporary digital art and be a meeting from the city itself to the contemporary digital art of New Media and Digital Media Arts as a means of experimentation and investigation into new experimental audiovisual narratives.
The Program proposes the dissemination and assimilation of experiences, methods and knowledge, enhancing the relationships between thought/action and creativity/innovation, in the changing experiences of contemporary society and the languages that enable these changes and new experiences and foresees a program of 6 sessions that will take place in October this year, in partnership with the Madeira Electricity Museum - Casa da Luz.
Aimed at the general public, but with an emphasis on young audiences in courses linked to Visual Arts and the area of New Media, entry to the event is free.
It is worth remembering that the TRANSGRESSION art + technology PR 2 | 2023-2024, organized by APCA, is curated by Hernando Urrutia, Artistic Director for projects in the areas of New Media and Digital Media-Arts, and is supported by DG ARTES - General Directorate of Arts and the Portuguese Republic – Culture.
