MADEIRADiG 2023 with a set of musical proposals marked by artistic diversity
September 29, 2023
The MADEIRADiG festival is back on the west coast of the island of Madeira with its 19th edition between November 30th and December 5th. The annual festival dedicated to digital arts, which since 2021 has had an extended version in Funchal through MADEIRADiG CiTY SESSIONS in partnership with Colectivo Casa Amarela, now presents its 19th edition of the Festival which is guided by artistic diversity, with regard to to works and artists presented.
This year's soundtrack includes the following renowned names: Sofia Jernberg, Judith Hamann, Alan Licht, Leila Bordreuli, Ana Roxanne, Beatrice Dillon, Mario Batkovic, Hannan Jones and Shamica Ruddock.
Among the acclaimed names of Portuguese artists, we also present, in this 19th edition, Rafael Toral, Portuguese musician and experimenter, known for his mix of ambient and rock since the 1990s, but who has recently focused on a different aspect of electronic music, heavily inspired by post-jazz. Aires & Canadian Rifles come together again for a collaboration, this time based on research into the sound archive of the Xarabanda Cultural and Musical Association, also bringing together the artist Mafalda Melim who complements the visual aspect of the project.
MADEIRADiG thus once again promises a relatively diverse, representative set of musical proposals of different sensibilities and artistic currents, considered relevant and current in the global panorama of electronic music and experimental music. The festival program will be announced shortly.
