THE HOMUNCULUS is a theater show that brings to the stage the verve of Natália Correia.
It exposes the author's boldness in having written, in 1965, this jocular satire in the midst of the Dictatorship. It was censored at the time and its copies destroyed. One recognizes in it the portrait of a Portugal dying of spirit and of young people rescued for the Overseas War that still remains in the memory of many and that no longer says anything to so many.
It is to both that the show is aimed, revealing what the Estado Novo hid. This is a show that merges languages such as theater, audiovisual and multimedia. Everything happens in the moment. 
The aesthetic language of the show will be based on the caricatural character that this political satire reveals. We also intend to combine theinterpretation of the characters' characteristic physical and vocal design, the images of the scene, through projections, which will symbolically contextualize the environment that this play makes us live in - in Mortocália (a name alluding to a Portugal imprisoned by the Estado Novo, making this spectacle of vivid imagery and resounding. 
By making what is written by Natália Correia visible and the imprint of the story audible, we thought we would do justice to the portrait that Natália wanted to give voice to.
