As part of the Transgression art + technology project, promoted by APCA - Agency for the Promotion of Atlantic Culture, the duo 89 BIRDS will present their audiovisual performance on July 18th, at 7 pm, at the Baltazar Dias Municipal Theater.
89 BIRDS is an electronic audiovisual project formed by Colombian musicians Felipe Valencia (Normal Moodo) e Gabriel "Tato" Lopera (Alterated States and Supervelcro), artists with a solid international career. Through visual and sound contrasts, the project offers an immersive sensory experience that pays homage to the planet and stimulates debate on environmental issues, awakening awareness and reflection with each performance.
The duo's mission is to create and environmental movement through music, promoting scientific and technological interest with a focus on preservation and sustainable development. As they state: "We want to be part of the solution to so many problems accumulated over generations, the consequences of which we are now seeing".
The 70-minute performance 'FotoSINTEsis' aims to provoke a change in mindset regarding the environment. It reflects on how civilization has used technological advancement for its development - a process that has intensified exponentially throughout history - warning of the risk that this same technology, once an ally, could turn against us. This is the central point of 'FotoSINTEsis': recognizing our fragility. By using technology as a creative tool, the project transgresses the prevailing superficiall view, proposing a new path to avoid self-destruction.
Created especially for Transgression art + technology LAPP 3, this performance brings together artists with different visions and transgressive approaches, presenting new forms of visualization and sound in the digital realm, in visual concerts that explore the relationship between art and technology.
Tickets are available at Ticketline and at the Baltazar Dias Municipal Theater Box Office.
