From 14 to 20 October, Funchal will host the 2nd edition of FX Digital Art - International Exhibition of Digital Art in Public Spaces, a cultural inclusion initiative organised by APCA - Agency for the Promotion of Atlantic Culture. Directed and curated by Hernando Urrutia, the project's main aim is to bring the public closer to contemporary artistic creation, transforming the urban space into a place of aesthetic enjoyment, reflection and digital experimentation.

The exhibition brings together two-dimensional (2D) digital artworks by national and international artists, selected through a curatorial process. The works will be displayed along an urban circuit designed for public spaces, utilising existing infrastructure such as bus advertising panels and public transport shelters, along Avenida do Mar. Each work will be accompanied by two QR codes, which will allow the public to access, via the project's official website, supplementary content about the artists, the works and exhibition circuit itself.

This second edition features 25 nationally and internationally renowned artists from four continents and 13 different countries, whose works from part of the digital art circuit in Funchal's public spaces. Of particular note is the participation of the American artist Zachary Rombakis, who, with this presentation at FX DIGITAL ART - International Digital Art Exhibition in Public Spaces, is staging his final digital art exhibition before retiring from the art world.

The event also includes the conference "Digital Art in Public Spaces: An Approach to the FX DIGITAL ART PROJECT", which will take place on 15 October at 18pm at the Galeria Tratuário. During this session, Hernando Urrutia, director and curator of the project, will discuss the case study of digital art in public spaces, as well as the emergence and significance of FX Digital Art as an innovative initiative bringing together art, tecnhology and the community. Admission is free.

A production by APCA - Agency for the Promotion of Atlantic Culture, with the support of DREAMMEDIA, Diário de Notícias and the Portuguese Republic – Culture, Youth and Sport / Directorate-General for the Arts.
